(HES) provides a wide range of community based mental health and substance abuse, prevention and addiction services to Massachusetts' Greater North Shore and Lower Merrimack Valley residents. Gloucester Family Health Center is open for business!

    The Gloucester Family Health Center has received approval from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Health Division of Healthcare Quality.


    At this time, we are providing medical and behavioral health services. As a family practice, we are able to provide medical services for all ages: from infancy throughout adulthood and to our elders. Office hours are by appointment, M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm. Services are provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.


    Mental health services and counseling are being provided at the clinic by Health & Education Services, a division of Northeast Heath System. which owns Addison Gilbert Hospital and is leasing the clinic building to North Shore Community Health.

    HES is a large behavioral health network, which is part of an integrated system of healthcare; Northeast Health Systems, Inc.


    The HES behavioral health network includes programs that were formerly part of The Center for Family Development, Inc.; and Project RAP, Inc. of Beverly, Massachusetts; NUVA, Inc. and Greater Cape Ann Human Services, Inc. of Gloucester, Massachusetts; and Northern Essex Community Mental Health Services Inc. of Newburyport and Haverhill, Massachusetts; and Greater Lawrence Mental Health Center of Lawrence, Massachusetts.


    The outstanding staff at HES has positioned the agency to be in the forefront of the delivery of behavioral health care in the newly developing managed care environment of the new century.


    We have developed a coordinated and comprehensive model of management and service delivery, which stresses continuous quality improvement in all its endeavors, recognizes the competencies and expertise of staff who serve diverse populations and builds on the strengths of consumers.

    Nurse Practitioner run health clinic, embedded in the mental health center, aimed at providing the full range of routine primary care.

      Monthly wellness days on site

      Education and coaching around smoking cessation, weight loss, diet and exercise

      Assist patients in learning to use inhalers and glucometers


      One stop shopping; mental health and physical health all in one place
