In addition to providing over 50,000 traditional outpatient visits we contract with over 25 school systems to provide counseling services, testing, training, and consultation.
HES services is the lead agency in the Lynn and Cape Ann areas for the purpose of coordinating care for the Commonwealth’s Department of Child and Family Services. We also serve as the Community Service Agency in Salem and Haverhill coordinating behaviorally health care for children and families enrolled in the state’s Medicaid program.

Success Story - Gail
“Gail” awoke in Pembroke Hospital after a suicide attempt with alcohol
and pills at the age of fourteen. She was diagnosed with bipolar
disorder and referred to HES’s Outpatient Services in Ipswich where she
and her family began weekly therapy sessions. The next few years were
rough for Gail, as she was hospitalized several times for substance
abuse and threats of suicide. Gail’s struggle continued as she became
pregnant at 16. She stopped using drugs and alcohol and switched to a
different high school. After her son’s birth she became increasingly
depressed and suicidal and agreed to resume the medications she had
avoided during her pregnancy. Despite much progress, she had a serious
relapse in her senior year and began using heroin. After two
hospitalizations, she joined a substance abuse program and reconfirmed
her commitment to living sober. Currently in her freshman year of
college, she attends regular AA meetings, continues in her therapy and
is off all medications. She now sees a bright future and is a good
mother to her three-year-old son.
